Northern Memorial Park Depot

Located in the north-western suburb of Glenroy, Victoria, Northern Memorial Park Depot is a project for the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, redefining the depot typology by providing a sustainable and beautiful workplace for those in emotionally challenging roles.

Responding to its civic, industrial, natural, and memorial contexts - a pleated and perforated metal screen wraps the building, curving around retained tree canopies, and amplifying shadows and depth. The shifting muted green hues of the façade reflect the native Australian landscapes throughout the cemetery.

Façade entry points and joinery are distinctly framed using colour, improving wayfinding and spatial clarity. Internal metal planters, lockers, doorways and handrails introduce coloured way finding elements to upper-level office and collaboration zones.

The design palette included a combination of CustomColour™ and stocked colours from the Duratec Zeus and Duralloy product ranges.
