No longer is powder coating restricted to the conventional application to metal substrates. Introducing one of the most advanced powder coating systems available for Heat Sensitive Substrates (HSS), such as Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF Board) - Dulux Trimatrx powder coating.
The Powder
Trimatrx is designed to cure at low temperatures and to provide a very good surface hardness, flexibility and chemical resistance, normally associated with conventional powder coating found on metal substrates like aluminium windows and doors. Virtually any colour can be specifically manufactured, in either a solid matt, textured or pearlescent finish.
As Trimatrx is not a conventional powder coating, supply is restricted only to Dulux HSS Applicators, as these companies have installed dedicated equipment and have been trained to apply this new technology.
The Board
The Trimatrx board has been specifically developed by Dulux Powder Coatings, in conjunction with leading Australasian MDF board manufacturers.
The Trimatrx board is a unique high quality MDF board, ideally suited for powder coating, but suitable for many other applications. Trimatrx board can be shaped and routed to a high quality finish, whilst meeting the "moisture resistant" grade of MDF standards.
The Trimatrx board can be obtained through Amerind Pty Ltd. Amerind can facilitate the supply of raw Trimatrx boards or supply Trimatrx powder coated boards and components, precision routed shapes, then powder coated to your specifications.
Maximising Green Star Rating Points
Trimatrx powder coating has been independently proven by CETEC Pty Ltd to be a low chemical emitting product.
Chamber tests conducted by CETEC Pty Ltd showed that emissions of Volatile Organic Compounds from Trimatrx coated boards were significantly less than 0.5mg/m2/hr, as specified by Green Building Council Australia. Emissions of formaldehyde from Trimatrx coated boards were up to 16 times lower than the demanding JIS-4 Star requirement.
Consequently, when specified as part of a compliant system, Trimatrx is a prime consideration for architectural projects where indoor air quality standards, such as 4, 5, & 6 Green Star Rating, have been set.
